My Stay at Mottram Hall

My Stay at Mottram Hall

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to be invited to the fabulous newly refurbished Mottram Hall up in Alderley Edge. We arrived around 1.30pm to be greeted by Managing Director James, who assured us our every need would be catered for and informed us that our lunch would be ready at 2pm.

We were then  shown to our absolutely stunning suite, with the country décor and a view right across the golf course, I was looking forward to my stay, not to mention the Champagne on Ice waiting for us when we got into the room.

We dropped our bags in and headed downstairs, where there was a golf buggy and driver waiting to take us over to the Claret jug bar and brasserie, holding umbrellas over our heads to shield us from the rain.  We quickly went inside and were shown a lovely table over looking the golf course, we ordered some pork terrine to start then steak baguettes with fries and some still water, but the waitress quickly persuaded us to have some wine! So a glass of rose’ it was!

After our lovely lunch, we  made our way to the Spa were we were shown around, I was very excited when I saw the Thermospace, as I’d never seen anything like it, the spa manager then added it was the only one in the UK!

I was booked in for a facial and a massage using my favourite Spa products Espa, I had my massage, then was asked by my therapist to lie on the flotation bed for my facial, I’d never been on one before, and to describe it, it was a bit like being in a heated  pool on a Lilo!! I was that relaxed I fell asleep, I could of stayed there for another 3 hours at least, it was that nice!

After our treatments, we went back to our suite and got ready. We headed to the recently expanded Bubble Rooms, in Alderley Edge where we were greeted by the owner, Lee, who showed us to our booth with a complimentary bottle of champagne. The atmosphere was buzzing  and so much bigger, since they bought the post office next door and made it twice the size!

We ordered Scallops then sea bass, it was all cooked to perfection. I would  definitely recommend The Bubble Rooms if you are ever in the area. We stayed there for a couple of hours then went back to the hotel.

We woke up the next day with a slight hangover, but I didn’t want to waste the day, so after a full English breakfast, we put our swimwear and robes on and headed down to the pool area. We made the most of the sauna, steam and swim them, went out side to the Thermospa and jumped in the outdoor hot tub, It was fabulous with the warm water but but freezing cold air outside provided a weird sensation!

After jumping out of the outdoor sauna, I ran straight into the brechelbath, which is not as hot as a sauna, which I was glad of as sometimes they take my breath away they’re so hot!

After spending the day around the pool relaxing, we had to head back home, I can honestly say it’s one of the best spas I’ve been too, and I’m a big fan of spas, I’ve been to so many. I would definitely recommend Mottram Hall, with so many weddings being held there, it really is a picture perfect place, whether it’s a treat for your girlfriend or mum, or a little weekend away with the girls, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.
