Amanda Harrington is a UK and international model and TV star. She has been all over the world doing what she loves most!
She started her career at 16 when she won Miss Liverpool, then 7 years ago, a friend sent pictures into a several magazines and she ended up winning two competitions, whilst at the same time, was crowned “The Hottest New Model” in Zoo magazine, and made it into the “Top 10 Hottest New Models in the World” in Maxim magazine.
In 2006, Amanda produced her own calendar which sold over 7000 copies in the UK alone, and following a promotional tour, she secured her name in the modelling world and went on to produce 3 more calendars. Since then, she has featured in all major newspaper publications and magazines throughout the UK, and appeared on front covers across the world.
First taste of TV
Amanda’s first experience of appearing on TV came in 2007 whilst living in Miami. She appeared on an 8 week British TV show on BBC3 called “Glamour girls”. Not long after, she also featured in two episodes of “Girls of the Playboy Mansion” on E! entertainment channel where she tested for American Playboy and stayed in the Playboy Mansion for a week. She was offered the job as “playmate” but unfortunately had to turn it down, as it meant her living in LA for two years, which wasn’t possible at the time.
Amanda was also a columnist for 4 years, writing a weekly column for the Liverpool Echo newspaper, reporting on her travels, glamorous lifestyle and her weekly insight as to what’s hot and what’s not, whilst also producing fashion articles for a year in GMM fashion magazine, doing a 5 page photo shoot and write up each month.
Amanda has been the face of many companies, including “Beauty Worx Hair Extensions”, “Formula 1”, “Sleep-in Rollers” and “Stella Artois”, where she appeared on 14 million packs of their product, as the genie in the bottle and on bill boards across the country.
Over the years, Amanda has presented and appeared at numerous charity events throughout the UK, helping raise the profile and generating funds for good causes. She is also a representative of “Cancer Research UK”, where she does all she can to increase the number of participants in their “Race For Life” fundraising event each year.
In 2012, Amanda received a telephone from a production company and was asked to be one of the main characters of TV show “Desperate Scousewives” where she featured on the 8 week E4 series.
As a result of the nationwide exposure, Amanda’s profile increased significantly, and reignited her career in all forms of media. She has even gone on to be a successful business woman, setting up on-line boutique, ScouseBoutique.com with two other cast members, Gill & Debbie O’toole. This Christmas, Amanda will also be appearing in Snow White as Fairy Goodheart in pantomime.
